Get the Most From Lock On Fitness

Your body is constantly changing. When you increase or decrease the amount of activity you engage in or change your diet, your body reacts. However, it doesn’t always react the way you might want or expect it to. The primary purpose of Lock On Fitness is to give you information about the changes that are taking place in your body as you modify your diet and/or exercise activity. Much of this information comes as a result of partaking in fitness field tests. Over time, this information will tell you if the changes you’ve made are helping you reach your goals or hindering your progress.

keep these three key points in mind:

First, you’ll have a better picture of your progress if you conduct these tests on a regular basis. More frequent testing makes it easier to see trends developing and allows you to take appropriate action early on.

Second, keep in mind that you are measuring change: comparing yourself to yourself. These tests are ‘field’ tests, which means they are not done in a laboratory. Because of this, they are generally not as accurate as laboratory tests. However, for purposes of measuring change within your body, absolute accuracy is not the issue. (Please explain why.) The goal is to see how your body is changing, not to compare a ‘fitness snapshot’ of yourself to several hundred other people in a clinical study.

Third, always monitor your progress for a given fitness area using the same test. For some types of tests, there are several different versions or ways of calculating results. For example, there are many different ways to measure body composition. If you mix the results from several different methods, you will usually get significantly different answers from each method. The results won’t relate to each other and you will not have an accurate picture of changes in your body composition. For this reason, it’s best to choose one method of measurement and stick with it.
